Farming for Families, Flavor, and the Future.

While we're entering our 14th growing season, Shenandoah Seasonal was founded in 2012 is a family farm born of a transformative experience in Cambodia, where fresh and local produce is a critical part of daily life. Ali and Dan, our founders, were living there and managing a center for impoverished children. They were deeply moved by people’s struggle to feed their families. When they returned to the USA, they started the farm, combining Dan's upbringing with their newfound passion for nourishing others.

The farm began with just $15,000, two dogs, and grit. Ali and Dan leased land, did things the hard way, and moved locations  three times (moving a farm isn’t easy!). Today, in our 12th season, we have our own 5 acres in Clear Brook, Virginia and a growing team of farmers committed to healthy land and healthy people.

We’re proud to grow the purest organic produce year-round, delivering nutrient-dense food in every season to our customers in the greater D.C. area. The relationships we’ve formed over the years are everything to us. Thank you for your commitment to local and organic food!

Four Seasons of Sustainable Freshness.

At Shenandoah Seasonal, we use sustainable and organic practices to grow high-quality produce year-round. Our intensive, raised bed method allows us to achieve high yields on just two acres while enriching the soil with cover crops and organic matter. With the help of high tunnels, we extend our growing season to provide fresh greens even in winter.

Focus on Sustainability

We rely on sustainable, organic methods to grow healthy, nutrient-rich produce. By using raised beds and enriching our soil with organic matter, we maximize yields on just two acres without chemicals.

Seasonal Bounty

We grow a diverse variety of produce year-round, from spring greens to summer tomatoes and winter lettuces. Our high tunnels let us bring fresh greens to market even during the colder months.

Seeds that Matter

We start all our plants from USDA-certified organic seeds sourced from High Mowing Seed Company. Their unique heirlooms and specialty varieties help us provide the best produce possible.
